Loren Entz presented a unique picture of the West, capturing the adventure, solitude, untouched landscape, farm and ranch life, and a quieter, more domestic side of rural life. His paintings often depict the simple moments that make up the fabric of everyday life – mothers with their children, a father holding an infant at the end of a hard day’s work.
Loren’s current works include oil, charcoal, pencil, pastel, watercolor, and most recently, sculpture. Many of his works have their genesis in painting trips in the field. Loren says that painting directly from nature allows him a greater degree of spontaneity. In his search for subject matter, Entz enjoys painting the human emotions that unite, rather than divide, the many cultures that make up the past and the present worlds of the Great American West.
Loren passed away on August 9, 2022.
